Our School Councillors have been elected by their peers and work hard to represent the views of themselves and others. This year's councillors are:

The Colour Hamper raffle has been drawn.
£339 was raised from ticket money. This will be added to our sun shelter fund, in memory of Jess Maggs.
Thank you for all of your donations. We have now raised over £1000 for the sun shelter, which is amazing.

16th December 2025
We received a generous quantity of gifts to make up the colour hampers for our raffle. The student council wrapped boxes to create the hampers and arranged the gifts ahead of the draw.
Lots of tickets have been sold so we are looking forward to seeing who wins each of the prizes.
December 2025
We launched a GoFundMe page: https://gofund.me/6753f057d
We have an estimated cost of £5800 to build and resource the sun shelter and so we set the target amount and let parents know on Class Dojo, as well as advertising it on social media. We are hopeful that with fundraising events throughout the year we can begin to work towards our target.
Our first event is a Colour hamper raffle which will take place before Christmas.
This year, the focus is on raising money to have a sun shade canopy on our top playground. The council had their first meeting today and put forward some initial ideas to raise money and will give feedback next week with more. They would like to give the project a name, and so they will collect suggestions from their classes for feedback next week.
The sun canopy is being constructed in memory of Jess Maggs, a parent who dedicated huge amounts of her time, energy and enthusiasm to helping our school community. Jess was chair of our PTA, helped with Forest School sessions, swimming lessons and listening to readers, among other activities. Sadly, Jess passed away at the end of 2024. With Jess' daughter on our school council team this year, we aim to raise as much money as possible to support this project in her memory.
Thursday 16th October 2025
We met to discuss any fundraising ideas that had been collected from peers and to decide on a name for the sun shelter.
Lots of ideas had been put to us, including a Fun Run, Easter Hunt, Music concert that we sell tickets for, a colour dip hamper to sell raffle tickets for, a fashion show, a nearly new clothes, book and toy sale, baking cookies and a £5 fair.
After lots of discussion about what time of year might suit the different events, they decided to organise a Colour Dip hamper as our main event next half term. Each class will have a different colour and will ask for donations of goods that match it! With a hamper full of items, they will sell raffle tickets and the winner gets the hamper! The councillors are all designing posters to bring to the next meeting.
We also discussed names for the project and three names were chosen which will be decided upon by Mrs Duggan and Isla.
The next meeting will be during the first week of next half term.
