Reception September 2026
A child can start school in the September after they turn 4 years old.
Applications for Reception places open on the 29th September 2025 and closes on the 15th January 2026. Applications for our school for a Reception 2026 place should be made directly to Somerset County council.

Any late applications must be made directly to Somerset County Council.
Outcome emails will be sent to those who applied online and letters will be sent out by second class post to those who applied using a paper form on 16 April 2026.

As a Voluntary Aided primary school we are our own admissions authority so all enquiries should be to the school office in the first instance. Please call the office to book a school tour; our admission policies and application forms are below.
Appeals information
Where an in-year application has not been successful parents may wish to lodge an appeal. Parents or carers have 20 days from notification of an unsuccessful application to prepare, submitting any additional evidence, to lodge a written appeal with the governing body. Appeals should be sent to the clerk of governors.
After lodging an appeal, the parent or carer will receive at least 10 school days’ notice of their appeal hearing date. Relevant papers will be sent to all relevant parties by the clerk.
Following the appeal hearing decision letters will be sent within 5 days wherever possible.
