We started the spring term with arts week focussing on the works of Norman Rockwell, recreating some of his works, such as the Connoisseur. We took photographs of ourselves viewing paintings at Bristol Museum and gallery and added these to our own masterpieces!

The second half of the Autumn term has been the usual whirlwind of fun. Woodpecker class has been full of creativity and achievement!
Over the past month, Year 4 have been busy exploring a wide range of exciting learning opportunities across the curriculum.
Woodpecker class have steamed through their learning over the last few weeks. In DT, we have chopped and prepared different vegetables, and then planned, made and cooked summer season tarts. Some of us added chillies... not Mrs B!
We finished our Shackleton work in English with stained-paper letters home, written as part of the crew. We then performed a drama piece in the Harvest service. We also studied map reading in Geography and plotted Shackleton's Journey to Antarctica, using grid references.
During our English lessons, we have been working on setting descriptions based on the text Jumanji. We entered our learning into an AI tool to generate images to match our work.
In Maths, the class have worked really hard on addition and subtraction and thoroughly enjoyed Mathletics time to hone our skills, as well as timestable focus.
Woodpeckers have had such positive and enthusiastic engagement in our busy new year
